When a car gets to have over 100,000 miles on it it is considered old, but not all types of cars are the same.

Which types of cars would you say are relaible even when they are older, ie hondas, chevy’s etc

Most cars will go over 100,000 with no serious problems. It reall comes down to how they are driven and maintained. I have seen new cars trashed out in a few miles, yet I have several that are over 30 years old that are fine.

Honda’s and Toyota’s run forever as far as Japanese cars go. Mercedes and BMW for the Europeans. Just stay away from American cars, they are not made to last for many miles.

The ones which are cared for and maintained properly will last longer than the others without regard to who makes it. Some people refer to some types of vehicles as being “bullet proof” or “indestructible”. Those people don’t take care of vehicles; they abuse and destroy them.

most Chevrolet and ford pick up trucks will go 200,000 to 350,000 miles before wearing out if you keep the fluids changed and tire pressures right.

In cars the Cadillac, the Lincoln, Mercury Gran Marquis, Ford Victoria and some of the Buick’s will last 200,000 before experiencing failure of drive train components.
