thats actally a pretty rediculus name for a band, I mean when you think bout it “The Cars”. “Oh, I’m seeing The Cars tonite!” “The cars? Are ye intp illegal racing now, a boyracer, standing alongside the road while sum dick’eads are endangering their own lifes and that of uvvas?” “No, you know, ‘The Cars’! Thassa band mate, ye knoe?” “Oh allright!” Still a good song from the golden age of rock when even bands from california where singin in a brit accent instead of slurring their words. “LOL!”

Ric and Ben sound a bit similiar. I thought Ric sang the song Drive but it was actually Ben who sang it.

As far as it sounding sped up…most (the vast majority) of bands in the 70’s and early 80’s had to lip-synch to the LP version of the song…with the exception of bands like Roxy Music and Bowie and T-Rex…I can understand why bands like the uber-meticulous Cars were fine with this…they were perfectionists and knew there were too many possibilities to ***** up things.

I am going to see outragous The Cars tribute band, Talk Of The Town on Fri Dec 5. They are playing at Sundance in Rocky Point, Long island, NY. Thats 60 mile drive from Manhattan
(90 mins). The Police tribute band Invisible Sun is also on the bill. This is the best music.

Ric and Ben both sang lead. Ben sang songs like this one, Drive… Rich sang songs such as Best Friends Girl, Shake It Up, You Might Think…

I still have an old issue of Rock Scene magazine that shows the Cars playing bars in Boston and says that they are Boston’s most talented new wave band!
