    I drive a ‘97 Totota Corolla and it gets 35 mpg. Averages 300 miles to a tank of gas.

    1997 Toyota Corollas have 13.2 gallon tanks. If you were really getting 35 mpg, you’d be able to go over 450 miles on a tank of gas. I often wonder how many high fuel economy claims are actually failures to do arithmetic. Plenty of German cars with trip computers provide numbers that don’t reconcile with odometer readings and fuel receipts.
